HISTORY
Mediora Smart Clinic represents the evolution of Haleema Mailanchi Hospital, founded in 1962 by Dr. Jamaludeen Mailanchi. As one of the pioneering private hospitals in Vatakara and the Malabar region, Haleema Mailanchi Hospital became a cornerstone in the community. It is especially renowned for its maternity care, which has brought thousands of infants into the world.
Dr. Jamaludeen Mailanchi, a former military doctor, initially established a small medical clinic that gradually expanded into a multi-bedded hospital. By the late 1960s, Haleema Mailanchi Hospital had grown into an integrated healthcare institution, offering a comprehensive range of services through its healthcare, laboratory, and pharmacy departments. The hospital provided primary, secondary, tertiary, and even quaternary care, becoming a trusted name in the region.
The hospital gained particular acclaim for its Gynecology department, which was supported by renowned specialists such as Professor Rathnam, Dr. Revathy, Dr. Sathi John, Dr. Hari Bhanu, Dr. Shanta Kumari, and Dr. AK Rajan. Other distinguished physicians included Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. CKN Paniker, Pediatrician Dr. Koshy Varghese, and General Physician Dr. Abdul Kader. Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Abdul Ghani and Pulmonologist Dr. K. P. Hashim, both sons-in-law, contributed significantly to the hospital’s legacy.
